Cover Star Joe

Joe recently featured on the front cover of 220 Triathlon Magazine and in a Q and A article told readers about his inspiration, motivation and training.

Joe was at university in Manchester when he first started with Half Ironman races then took on the crazy challenge of a full Ironman at Challenge Barcelona in 2012, coming 5th overall and recording the 7th fastest time ever by a British athlete.

Following on from winning a Silver Medal at Ironman New Zealand, establishing himself as the 3rd fastest British athlete over the distance, Joe is back into training. His next races are: Challenge Fuerteventura, 23rd April; Challenge Salou, 29th May; Staffordshire 70.3, 12th June; Challenge Galway, 26th June. As well as these races, Joe will also be taking part in local running and cycling races such as the Stowmarket 20 mile cycling time trial and the Wymondham 20 mile run in order to tune up for these Ironman Challenges.

Joe’s target is the Challenge Roth in Germany, where his aim is to break the British record and become the first British athlete to go sub 8 hours.
