The TORQ Performance Mountain Bike Team just can’t stop winning! Even during the off season.
For the very last time in 2010 Ben Thomas showed off the TORQ colours at round two of the Brass Monkey Winter Series. Having won his first race for the team at the venue a year ago he was determined to finish off a successful year on a high. Heavy over night rain turned the wintry conditions of snow and ice we’ve become accustomed too into a muddy mess.
Breaking away early was a lead duo including Ben, left the large field of riders scattered across the seven mile course. By the end of lap two the TORQ rider’s fast pace left him out in the lead alone. As the laps passed by the sandy conditions took its toll on the bikes. Lap by lap Ben continued to pull out a bigger lead over his rivals and was the only rider to venture out for a seventh lap. Completing the race in almost 4 hours 30 the TORQ Performance Team took the top step on the podium for the last time this year.
