Iain Robertson narrowly missed the podium in the Overall catagory, yet proudly secured 1st Vet home, as he smashed the popular “Sandman Triathlon” on Anglesey, North Wales – which was hosted by the incredible “Always Aim High” Events crew.

Here is Iain’s account of the event:

“I had been looking forward to “The Sandman”, which, again was so well organised by the “Always Aim High” Events Team. It certainly has a great reputation and it didn’t disappoint. It was a short but tough swim and the rough conditions made things difficult.

Once on the bike, I enjoyed the 60Km rolling course. After the bike section, came the sandy run, which took us through the forest and along Newborough Beach. I was closing down on 3rd place, but couldn’t quite get there. I was still very pleased with 4th overall and 1st Vet to finish. Indeed, the event was the perfect crescendo to round off my 2016 season.”
