Melanie Sneddon, a previous medallist at this National 10mile TT Championships, qualified to take on the UK’s best over 10 miles…
Having been seeded 10th and racing on a course that would usually suit her, all should have been straight forward for Melanie. Unfortunately, high winds with gusts of up to 35mph met those on the start line of the event and it soon became apparent that the conditions were not going be favourable. Indeed the Trials and Tribulations of the TT, meant that this wasn’t to be Melanie’s day.
Here is Melanie’s account of the event:
“Sometimes the build up to a big race doesn’t quite go to plan and sadly this was one of those occasions. I am disappointed, but with all racing, you have to take the rough with the smooth and the season is far from over!”
Melanie will now work on getting her “track legs” back, in time for the World Masters Track Championships.
