Nick Shasha switches to triathlon for the rest of the season and takes 5th place at the Triathlon England National Championships.
With the European and World Duathlon Championships done and dusted, Nick made the mid-season switch to triathlon and jumped straight into the frying pan at the Triathlon England National Championships. This year, the Nationals were held at the stunning Leeds Castle in Kent. The many months of focus on duathlon rather than triathlon had some impact on Nick’s position in a technical and eventful swim featuring both the moat and drawbridge. Out on the bike, Nick made good progress moving through the field. The final 5k run was a savage and hilly cross-country run, which slowed the whole field down considerably and allowed Nick to move further ahead before gaining 5th in Age Group.
