Mel battles with a bug in the lead up to the World Masters Track Champs…

This would be the first time I was able to compete at the World Masters and I was not really sure how I would go, after the past few months, but I was really looking forward to some racing.

Having quietly suggested to a few people that I might attempt the local hill climb time trial, there was a little too much laughter for my liking. 

This was a tough race, coming just 7 days after a hard run at the Great Eastern Run; the legs definitely weren’t at 100% and far from race ready, but a race is a race and you can’t go into these things without a positive ‘out to win’ attitude. 

As this was Paul’s Club Championship Race, he really did have an agenda to do well and win, and that’s exactly what he did. 

This year’s Great North Run was the first time that any TORQ athletes had entered this iconic race, with Stu Robinson and Paul Whittaker lining up with the likes of some other chap called Mo Farah? 

The TORQ Track team take the World Masters by storm and surpass all expectations…

A few of us travelled down to Manchester for the British National Track Championships on Thursday night, to be ready to race on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  

There may not be a more fitting end to the season than securing the best results of the year. 

The August Bank Holiday weekend saw the team head to Minley Manor in Surrey for the annual TORQ In Your Sleep, one of the UK’s most popular and hotly contested 12 hour endurance mountain bike races, on what is an incredibly popular course. 

TORQ has always had great race teams ever since its inception in 2003 and, along the way, we have picked up some pretty amazing sponsors – some of whom are still with us today.
