TORQ owner Matt Hart is helping the inspirational William Tan get from Land’s End to John o’Groats in just 9 days on his hand bike with friends Peter and Alan. They are also going the pretty way, averaging over 100 miles per day with quite a few hills to get over. All proceeds go to Bloodwise to fight blood cancer.
Grim, Grim, Grim – that was the wettest day any of the team have ever had on a bike. They left Bath at 7am and it started to rain and then it got heavier and heavier and it just did not stop! This coupled with temperatures around 10 degrees and a cross/head wind made for an interesting day, but they did it! They rolled into Ludlow at just before 7pm 100.7 miles later after 6,602 ft of climbing. The team were so cold at one point that they stopped at a garage to get a hot chocolate (not part of the nutritional plan, but an essential departure from it) and we took the opportunity to refuel Will at the pumps – we were looking for any advantage we could get! The team are looking forward to riding with Brandon, Mark and Graham today and tomorrow who are travelling the next couple of days of their journey with them to assist and support – it’s greatly needed at this stage. Thank you to everyone so far who has donated – we’re questioning our sanity right now, but your support means so much to us.
