The team were represented by Alex Welburn and Joanne Clay, who both took the Elite wins on the day. These victories, combined with their consistent performances over this season, also culminated in them both receiving the Midlands XC Series Elite Championship titles! An excellent achievement.  

 

Alex Welburn – 1st Elite Male and Midlands XC Series Elite Champion .

“So the last round of the Midlands XC and a new venue, the course was either flowing single track or short sharp climbs, which really took its toll on the legs after 6 laps. I decided that I wanted to press on early on, to see if I could get a gap, but with two strong guys with me, this was not going to happen. Everyone was riding really strong and the pace never let up, so after lots of attempts from both Giles and Richard to get away, it ended up down to a sprint finish and a tough one at that. I managed to drive it on just before the final corner and took the win, which also meant I had taken the series title as well – which I was really pleased about.”
