TORQ Track Team’s Jan Birkmyre successfully defended her titles at the National Masters Track Championships last weekend.

The Super-Saturday of these championships features the TT and the sratch race. Jan secured her first title of 2016 in the 500m TT, clocking a time of 37.616 which was over a second faster than the next rider. This was followed later in the same day by the scratch race. Janet was the Elite National Champion in this discipline as recently as 2012 and so this is something of a specialism for her and she managed another dominant display to win. Janet told us “I love riding these championships, it is one of my favourite meetings of the season because the racing is always fast and aggressive, but off the track there is a chance to catch up with friends and the organiser, Graham Bristow, who really puts on an amazing event for us.”
