Based in Cumbria, Grant is relatively new to the triathlon scene, coming from a long-distance running background.
He started long distance running to raise money for Charity when he was 22 years old and quickly set a competitive PB over the marathon distance 18 months later in 2hr 25 minutes. Following this he joined our Torq Performance running team.
More recently, in 2022, after some years away from competitive sport, he wanted other challenges and turned to Triathlon. In his first year he qualified for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, where he went on to place 2nd British AG to the finish overall. And later this year, he won his AG in the English Middle Distance Championships and later finished 2nd overall at Copenhagen Ironman in an all time British AG record Ironman® time of 8hours 16minutes.
Grant has aspirations to continue to push himself to see what he can achieve in the sport. Largest gains are to be found in, what he would consider his weakest discipline, the swim. But most importantly is dialling into the optimum nutrition strategy to ensure he can run the field down at the back end of the race
