The TORQ supported Honda TT Legends team was in action again last weekend, this time in the sweltering heat of the Qatar desert at the Losail race track.
According to John Davis, the team Physio “The 8 hour race required much rider preparation as temperatures soared to a scary 45 degrees by midday. The race, lasting 8 hours, was run in a cooler 39 degrees, starting at 5pm with each of the 3 riders completing just less than an hour on the Honda Fireblade at a time.
TORQ energy provided the hydration for the riders and team members with fluid replacement of between 2 and 3 litres required for riders after each stint. The Honda TT Legends Team finished on the podium with a creditable 3rd for riders Laverty, Kyionari and O’ Hallohan. The next race is another 8 hours in Japan at Suzuka at the end of July where the temperatures can be just as punishing and the challenge to performance as formidable.”
