The end of another season is here and what a season it has been for the TORQ/KONA Team. We now have all the team bikes back from our riders and they are up for grabs at very competitive prices. All of these bikes have only been used from March to September 2006, so in effect have only had 6-7 months use. They have not been used during the winter or for hundreds of miles of training hence the excellent condition and performance of the components. Most of the riders customised certain parts of the bikes such as headsets, wheels, forks etc. then re-fitted the unused original parts for resale. There are five bikes up for sale, 3 Kula Primo’s (HT), 1 Kula Supreme (HT) and 1 King Supreme (FS).
The Kula Primo is a World Cup Cross Country racing hardtail made with Easton Ultralite tubing. Also ridden by the Kona Les Gets Factory team, the Kula Primo has been tested and refined (and ultimately raced) by the fastest racers in the world. The Specification includes full XT mechs. FSA wheelsets, Easton EA50 Bars/stem/post, Race Face Deus chainsets and Hayes carbon HFX9 brakes. A full bike spec. can be viewed at Kona Bikes UK
Bike 1 – Kona Kula Primo 19”
This bike is in excellent condition and has been well looked after by the rider who also happens to be a bike mechanic by trade. All the components function perfectly. There are one or two small stone chips on the frame, but in general its in top form. There are five alterations to the original spec and they are mainly upgrades that you would not normally find on a bike in this price bracket.

Bike 2 – Kona Kula Primo 17”
This bike is generally in good condition, all components function perfectly. The frame has several stone chips and has had touch up on the chain/seat stays. It also has the common marks from chain slap, this said it has no effect on the function of the frame and it is still only 7 months old. The spec is as listed, with no alterations. Some parts such as the saddle and bars are the new and unused ones.

Bike 3 – Kona Kula Primo 14”
This is a great chance to get hold of a top end, small framed XC bike for smaller riders or budding youngsters. It has been used by one of TORQ/KONA’s top female riders. All components function perfectly and the spec is as original. The frame has a rub mark and a scratch on the down tube, and a couple of stone chips. It also has suffered from chain slap and has lost some paint on the chain stay.

As can be seen from the spec of the Kula Primo, it’s the ideal choice for XC riding/racing, hence these bikes being chosen as the backbone of the TORQ/KONA race team for 2006. This is a chance to pick up a class Kona rig for a bargain They retail at SRP: £1700.
Bike 4 – Kona Kula Supreme 19”
The hardtail for lightweight extremists. You know who you are! This is Kona’s top end cross-country race bike for 2006. Super light Scandium frame with a set of components and finishing kit to die for. This was a one-off bike for the team and the spec seen at Kona Bikes UK describes it all, what more could you want? The components on this bike are in good order. The saddle is a bit worn and the frame has some rub marks and stone chips. It also has lost some paint on the chain stay due to chain slap, but with such a high quality frame this is only cosmetic. The tyres are new, and pedals are not included.

Bike 5 – Kona King Supreme – 18”
To quote Kona themselves, “If cross-country dual suspension lightweight extremism was a religion, this bike would be it’s icon.” This bike was another one-off for the TORQ/KONA team, and again was only used for one season. The spec courtesy of Kona Bikes UK speaks for its self, and the bike has had very little miles put on it. The wheel set has had minimal use due to others being used for the season. This bike smoothes out the bumps with a supper light soft-tail approach. The frame on this bike has a small dint in the top tube, which remains cosmetic and has no effect on performance, and all the components are in good order. Pedals not included.
