With an eye on the next Commonwealth Games, Louise knew the time had come again to put down benchmark times for the squad.
Louise – We were asked to ride a flying 200 and a 500, and so I treated the day like race day, arriving in plenty of time to eat and chill with co-riders, Emma and Robyn, before using the drop in session as a warm up. I was up first for my 200; training had been going well so I was really hoping for a PB. I knew I had put in the hard work over winter, so now I just had to get it all out on the track. The conditions weren’t great but the effort felt good and I was pleased to see it was a massive PB. However I knew I had more to give, so I changed gear and rode with further effort and was thrilled to go even faster. In the 500, never my favourite, I matched my PB. All in all it was a good day and I am chuffed the training is paying off. Hopefully I’ll continue to improve for the British Masters.
Until next time, thanks for reading and many thanks to our sponsors:
