Here at TORQ we are pleased to announce our partnership with fork brand SR Suntour. During the 2012 season our Performance MTB Team will be running the top of the range SR Suntour Axon Suspension Forks, fitted to our 26” and 29” wheel, Whyte Carbon hardtails.
SR Suntour is a much lesser known brand in the UK, renowned for there excellent low-mid end forks, often found on complete stock bikes. Their top of the range forks are very new to the UK market, but feature comparable weights and performance to many of the other better known UK brands and are extremely competitively priced.
The forks already have a race proven pedigree having achieved no less than 15 world cup podiums and 3 world championship titles in 2011 alone, so they’re extremely high profile on mainland Europe!
The team will be running the Axon Werx Carbon 26” and 29” model, a super lightweight fork weighting in at only 1600g, designed for XC and Marathon riding. The fork is equipped with some excellent features including a cleverly designed titanium 15mm Qloc Axel which allows for a very quick wheel change. Up top the forks feature a tapered steer tube and hollow crown to decrease weight and increase stiffness. As well as being lightweight and stiff, the forks also have a remote electronic lockout rebound and low speed compression adjustment in line with many of the other top end forks on the market. As a company, SR Suntour have the philosophy that all of there products should be easy to service and as a result feature easy to replace cartridge systems, something as a team we are extremely happy with.
