The July 2014 issue of What MTB Magazine has just hit the door mat here at TORQ HQ. This month’s issue features the TORQ Performance Mountain Bike Team’s very own custom XC racing rig. It’s on display in the Eye Candy section of the mag.
This year’s bike sees the team riding what we feel is the best looking bike in the teams’ 11 year history, with team sponsors Whyte Bikes and SR Suntour really going the extra mile to ensure the team bike is a completed bespoke one off. For your chance to see the bike in the flesh, check out the TORQ events calendar here.
The bike is built around Whyte Bikes, UK designed, 29C carbon frame with great mud clearance, a confidence inspiring geometry and internal cable routing. Up front, SR Suntour have taken care of damping with the excellent Axon Werx Carbon fork, with 100mm travel and a 15mm Q-Lock axel for stiffness. Wheels are covered by Easton EA90 for a very lightweight and stiff wheelset, set up tubeless with Schwalbe Tyres latest rubber. Steering and Seating is also covered by Easton Cycling’s EA90 Stem, Seatpost and Handlebars. Braking is achieved by Magura’s incredibly powerful and light MT8s with 160mm rotors. Shimanos 2x10speed XT/XTR Drivetrain ensure smooth shifting and a sufficient range of gearing all controlled by Jagwire cablesets. For that extra personal touch, all team bikes are fitted with a custom TORQ top cap coutesy of Kapz Guru too.
As always, a big thank you to all the team sponsors, without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we do:
