To celebrate TORQ’s 25th Anniversary, TORQ’s owner Matt Hart will be travelling to Sri Lanka in March 2025 to cycle Sri Lanka’s 5-stage premier gravel adventure. Enter our competition for a chance to join him and win an all-expenses paid holiday*
The Adventure
Ride Sri Lanka 2025 offers an exhilarating multi-day gravel cycling journey through the island’s most stunning locales and thrilling trails. This adventure immerses you in Sri Lanka’s breathtaking scenery and connects you with global cycling enthusiasts, sharing the island’s unique charm and culture.
The full itinerary and day-by-day breakdown can be viewed HERE but in summary, after a couple of days of acclimatisation, you will ride from Trinco to Habarana via a choice of routes from 50-119Km – you get to decide how far you want to ride. Day 2 takes you from Habarana to Matale on either a 54 or 79Km route. After a rest day and some sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya, Day 4 takes you from Nuwara Eliya to Ella with a choice of 52 or 80Km routes. The penultimate day takes you from Ella to Tissamaharama with a choice of 3 courses ranging from 66km to a monstrous 138km. For the final day of riding, everyone shares the same 56Km course from Thissa to Hambantota before celebrating your completion in Colombo at a farewell ceremony hosted by SriLankan Airlines.
Is it Competitive?
Ride Sri Lanka is a gravel adventure for everybody that loves riding their bike in beautiful locations. If a leisurely spin whilst taking photos and chatting with locals along the way is your thing then this is for you. There will be LOTS of photo opportunities! Likewise, if you have a competitive streak, then there will also be ample opportunity to flex your quads! Each day there will be a Strava stage of varying length and terrain, and the quickest on the day will receive, not only kudos and Strava bragging rights, but a prize too – something to be used at the hotel in the evening. That’s what we call a win win situation!
